- ADIA has hired Gayan Wijesinha, the former head of systematic and absolute return strategies at Investcorp-Tages. Wijesinha joined as a portfolio manager in the fund’s alternative investments department.
- ADIA named Alberto Santulin as CIO of alternatives. He made the move following 21 years at Blackstone Alternative Asset Management. The former head of alternatives, Tarek Rizk, left last year to join Balyasny Asset Management.
- Captstone have hired Davor Jakelic as portfolio manager. Jakelic made the move following nearly eight years at Nezu where he was a partner and head of capital markets focused on Japanese equities.
- Citadel has hired three economists, Saugata Sen, who was at the BOE until last year, Kenya Amano, who spent more than a decade at the Japanese central bank, joined in May to lead Japan coverage. Next month, Gabriel Tenorio will join from Wellington Management Company LLP to cover Latin America.
- ExodusPoint has hired Nabeel Abdoula as a senior macro portfolio manager. Abdoula was previously chief investment officer at Fulcrum Asset Management.
- Isabella Capital Management has hired a Citadel and AQR veteran, Atul Tiwary to advise on its quantitative buildout. Tiwari is understood to have joined as chief quantitative adviser ahead of the planned launch of Isabella’s first fund in October.
- Lombard Odier Investment Management is set to hire John Segrich, is set to join. Segrich is the former chief investment officer at Luminus Management spinout Clear Sky Advisers Investment Managers’ multi-manager platform. Segrich will start at LOIM’s 1798 Multi-Strategy Fund as a portfolio manager in July. It is understood that Segrich and his team, which includes fellow Clear Sky veterans Bill Carapucci and Ned Ervin, will run north of $250m across different pockets within LOIM, including the new multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund.
- Millennium has hired Aaron Key as its Head of AI for Fixed Income Technology. Aaron joins from Amazon Web Services.
- Schonfeld Strategic Advisors has hired Marty Sun from Capula Investment Management where he was a portfolio manager. Sun is understood to run a pod, trading a delta one strategy focused on China. Sun is set to recruit a team for the new pod.
- Segantii have hired Andrew Brown as chief investment officer. Brown previously worked at Rokos Capital Management as chief investment officer.
- Taula Capital has hired Stefan Ericsson as deputy chief investment officer two years after leaving Citadel.
- Tudor is set to hire that Stuart Riley in its London office as a senior portfolio manager. Riley was previously the deputy CIO at global macro hedge fund Rokos Capital Management.
